speaking! the latest issue of the Solutionaries calls for deep reflection on 'home'. that manifests in many different ways given our very different situations. for me, it's been losing a childhood home due to foreclosure, the reality of grandma's home burning to ashes, and me now finding ways to recontextualize my own home in a communal sense while turning to others who also hold that thought + value. now.. how i define home within self is a deeper convo and you'll have to hit me up for that 🙂with it being winter, in Michigan and in other colder states, there's the harsh reality of the freezing temps and needing to find shelter in midst of it when that may not be an accessible option.
there's the stark reality of growing fires in California causing many to lose their homes, raising the concern and pondering if this is the thing that causes greater concern for climate crises.
across the country, folks are still losing homes due to slumlords and racism within homebuying (and keeping) policies.
remaining is the inevitable memory work that whatever vessel we call home, holds for us..
amidst the very tangible ideals of home, how can that also be viewed within? how do we marry ideals of home within and beyond us, toward a collective understanding?
we welcome you to submit content that's juicy, yet rooted in critical thought -- maybe something warming to touch, or something to bring us into the realities we tend to seek escape from.. we welcome it all
